Deir Ezzor. "Stabbings" lead to the death of a child, and investigations pursue the perpetrators

The city of Deir Ezzor was rocked by a horrific crime after the body of a child was found inside an abandoned building near the "Justice Palace", in an incident that sparked widespread shock among residents and increased fears related to the deterioration of the security situation in the city.

Body found

According to local sources, the forensic patrols, under the command of the head of the Criminal Investigation Branch, went to the site immediately after receiving a report of the presence of a body inside an abandoned building in the Sheikh Yassin neighborhood, and according to the preliminary examination conducted by the Public Prosecution and the forensic doctor, it was found that the death dates back several days, as the body was found in a state of partial decomposition, with stab wounds in different areas of the child's body.

A security source confirmed that there were no indications that the victim had been sexually assaulted or organ stolen, which the child's family confirmed after identifying him through a marking on his hand and shoes.

Details of the child's disappearance

The beginning of the incident goes back to a few days ago, when the child's father, Mahmoud Rashid Al-Duaiji, lost trace of his son after leaving his uncle's shop. Testimonies from the parents in the "Central Park" indicated that the child was seen accompanied by a person working on a horse, which prompted the family to file an official complaint with the "Eastern Section", which detained the suspect for one day before releasing him.

Despite the ongoing search, parents were shocked today by the news that the child was found dead, amid a wave of popular anger and demands for accountability for anyone proven to be involved.

Official statement and confirmation of the continuation of investigations

The Directorate of Information in Deir Ezzor issued a statement clarifying the circumstances of the crime, stressing that the Criminal Investigation Branch seized evidence and clues from the crime scene, and began extensive investigations to identify the perpetrators and present them to the competent judiciary.

The Directorate called on citizens and news pages to be accurate and not to be dragged into rumors, in order to ensure the progress of investigations and reach accurate results as soon as possible.

Security moves to boost stability

The crime coincided with intensive movements by the Internal Security Forces in Deir Ezzor, which this week began implementing a plan to strengthen "technical control" by installing a network of modern surveillance cameras in main roundabouts and vital streets.

The move comes in an attempt to curb criminal crimes, especially in light of the proliferation of abandoned buildings that have become a fertile environment for criminals, according to local residents.
