Completion of the maintenance of the third turbine at the "Al-Jabsa" station south of Al-Hasakah

The administration of Al-Shaddadi region, in cooperation with the Directorate of Al-Jabsa Oil Fields, announced the completion of the maintenance and rehabilitation works of the "third turbine" at the gas power plant in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah.
The General Manager of the General Electricity Company in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Eng. Saleh Othman Idris, confirmed in a statement that Al-Hasakah Governorate has two vital facilities for the production of energy from gas. The first is the "Al-Suwaidiyya Plant" in the Rumailan area, which has been operating since 1989 with a capacity of up to 150 MW, and the station includes 5 generation groups based on natural gas, and is characterized by the speed of maneuvering and connection with the public grid, as it feeds the 230 kV lines that connect Al-Suwaidiya to Al-Hasakah and Qamishli up to Syrian Public Network.
Idris added that the second plant, which is the Jabsa plant in the Al-Shadadi area, is the second and successful experience of Al-Hasakeh in generating electricity gas, and consists of three turbines with a total capacity of 30 megawatts, in addition to a substation and connection lines with a length of 20 km.
Idris explained that the rehabilitation operations aim to feed the entire southern region, from Al-Shadadi, Marqada to Al-Hol and Tal Hamis, which ensures the stability of the electricity supply to more than 600 villages scattered in those areas.
Idris pointed out that the simultaneous operation of the three turbines at the gypsum station will lead to a radical reduction in rationing hours, providing electricity to the residents at a rate of 18 to 20 hours per day. This stability will contribute to the revival of social and economic life in the areas of Al-Arisha, Al-Shadadi, Al-Dashisha, Ward Shukran and Tal Hamis, and ease the burden on thousands of families in those areas.
Technically, the concerned sources confirm that the gypsum fields alone produce about 1.5 million cubic meters of gas per day, and this amount is considered sufficient to produce more than 200 megawatts of electricity, which exceeds the needs of the local governorate and contributes to supporting the national grid.
1.5 million m3 of gas per day
On the issue of securing the gas required to operate the plant, oil expert Eng. Delkhush Suleiman confirms in a similar statement that the Jabsa oil fields operate gas generation groups, by pumping natural gas at rates of about 1.5 million m3 per day at times to the Al-Rayyan plant in Homs, to strengthen the national electricity grid, with a quantity of up to 200 megawatts.
Suleiman said: "The Rumailan oil fields in the northeast of al-Hasakah province are one of the most prominent oil and gas production sites in Syria, as it includes, in addition to oil, about 25 gas wells in the neighboring Suwaydiya fields."
He pointed out that the Suwaidiya gas plant produces about 500 thousand m3 of gas that feeds power plants.
