Casemiro joins Messi and Suarez at Inter Miami
Inter Miami announced on Wednesday (July 22nd) that it has signed Brazilian midfielder Casemiro on a free transfer, as the club, backed by former English star David Beckham, continues to attract big names in world football.
The club said Casemiro had signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2027 MLS season, with the option to extend the agreement until June 2029, pending the completion of the procedures for obtaining his work visa for professional players.
Casemiro said after the deal was announced that what motivates him the most is "winning and continuing to develop", adding that the project the club has given him and the efforts made to bring him to Miami mean a lot to him.
The Brazilian added: "I can't wait to start and regain the confidence that the club has given me, not only during the matches, but in training and every day."
Casemiro, 34, will play alongside Argentine star Lionel Messi and Uruguayan Luis Suarez.
A long march with Real Madrid
Casemiro arrives at Inter Miami after a busy career at the highest levels of football, most notably his time with Real Madrid, where he became one of the most prominent defensive midfielders of his generation.
In eight seasons with Real Madrid's first team, Casemiro made 336 appearances, scoring 31 goals and providing 29 assists, and helped the club win 18 major trophies.

Free transfer from Manchester United
In 2022, Casemiro moved to Manchester United, where he spent three seasons, during which he made 160 appearances, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists.
The Brazilian helped the team win the FA Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024, before ending his Premier League journey and moving to the American League.
At the international level, Casemiro has been a key element in Brazil's national team over the last decade, having made 91 international appearances for the Seleção.
He helped Brazil win the Copa America in 2019 and participated in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
At the 2026 World Cup, Casemiro was part of the Brazilian national team's roster, starting in the team's five matches, scoring a goal in the round of 32 and assisting in the round of 16.
