Brazil crush Panama by six and warn their World Cup group teams

Vinicius Jr. scored a superb goal and assisted another during Brazil's 6-2 win over Panama in a friendly at the famous Maracanã Stadium in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

Under the watchful eye of the injured Neymar, the Real Madrid star made an immediate mark with a rocket shot in the first minute that found the net.

Panama abruptly equalised from a free-kick that hit Matheus Cunha to change direction and go into Alisson Becker's goal.

Vinicius manipulated the Panama defence with his dribbles and then sent a ball over the head of captain Casemiro to score the second goal before half-time.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti pushed a different line-up in the second half, and continued his dominance by adding 4 goals, and Bournemouth striker Ryan added the third goal with a superb shot into the empty net after a mistake by the goalkeeper.

Lucas Paqueta added the fourth goal with a beautiful shot, before Igor Thiago scored the fifth from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

Danilo Oliveira completed the six with individual skill after Paqueta's pass, and then Panama scored another of the honorable goals with a rocket from Carlos Harvey.

  Brazil's six-team side sounded the alarm bells for Egypt ahead of their friendly in the United States before the start of the World Cup.

Brazil are looking for a title that has been missing for 24 years, and compete in a group that includes Morocco, Scotland and Haiti.

Switzerland beats Jordan in a friendly

The Jordanian national team suffered a 4-1 friendly loss to its Swiss host in St. Gallen on Sunday, as part of the preparations of both sides to play  the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Jordan ended the first half trailing with a clean sheet from Briel Embolo (28 from the penalty spot), Dan Nduye (33) and Granit Xhaka (45+10 from the penalty spot).

In the second half, substitute Odeh Al-Fakhoury succeeded in reducing the difference for Jordan (52), but the other substitute, Christian Fasnacht, brought it back to three goals (79).

In the rest of the friendlies, Ecuador beat Saudi Arabia 2-1, South Korea beat Trinidad and Tobago 5-0, Mexico beat Australia 1-0, Czech Republic beat Kosovo 2-1, Cape Verde beat Serbia 3-0 and Ukraine beat Poland 2-0.
