Betis snatches thrilling draw against Real Madrid in La Liga

Real Betis snatched a valuable draw against Real Madrid with a goal in the deadly time of the match on Friday, in the opening match of the 32nd round of La Liga, to give Barcelona a gift that brings them closer to winning the title.

With this result, the Royal Club was content to collect one point, which raised its score to 74 points in second place, 8 points behind leaders Barcelona, who have the chance to extend the gap when they host Getafe on Saturday.

Real Betis, on the other hand, achieved their third draw in their last 4 matches to continue the bleeding of points and remain in fifth place with 50 points, seven points behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid, and their hopes of booking one of the top four seats qualified for the Champions League are dwindling.

Brazilian Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 17th minute with a right-footed shot from inside the box following a ball that bounced off the keeper after a powerful shot from Uruguayan Federico Valverde.

French striker Kylian Mbappe thought he had doubled the score for the Merengue in the 53rd minute after a stunning pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold, but the goal was ruled out for offside, failing to celebrate a goal in his 100th game for Real Madrid.

Real Betis intensified their attacking pressure in the final minutes of the match, and Hector Bellerin took advantage of a defensive confusion in the ranks of Real to shoot a powerful ball with his right from inside the box, to realize the result of the equalizer for the hosts in the 90+4th minute.

Napoli beat Cremonese with a clean sheet on Friday at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the opening round of the 34th round of the Italian Football League, postponing Inter Milan's title.

With this result, Napoli raised its tally to 69 points in second place, nine points behind Inter, who will host Torino on Sunday, and three points ahead of Milan, who host Juventus.

Cremonese, on the other hand, are frozen at 28 points in 18th place on goal difference behind 17th-placed Lecce, the top safety, who  host Hellas Verona on Saturday.

Napoli took an early lead through Scott McTominay in the third minute after he fired a powerful shot from the edge of the area after receiving a pass inside the area from Belgian Kevin De Bruyne.

The southern Italian team waited until the 45th minute to double their lead with a reverse goal scored by Filippo Teracciano, the defender of Cremonese, by mistake in his own goal, after Danish Rasmus Hojlund's shot hit him and diverted its path into the net.

Three minutes later, Kevin De Bruyne added the third goal after he extracted the ball from Morocco's Youssef Maleh inside the box before shooting into the net, ending the first half with the hosts leading with a clean sheet.

In the second half, Napoli extended their lead by scoring the fourth goal in the 52nd minute, when Serbian goalkeeper Vladan Savic passed the ball to Brazilian Alisson Santos, who singled out the keeper and put the ball into the net.

The referee awarded a penalty to Napoli after a handball against Alberto Grassi inside the area, only for Scott McTominay to execute, but Indonesian Emile Odiro, the keeper of Cremonese, made a brilliant save in the 83rd minute.
