
Barcelona fall to Alavés. Sevilla consolidates its survival in La Liga

Barcelona, who won La Liga this season, suffered an away defeat to Deportivo Alavés in the 36th round of the competition.

With this win, Alavés' team raised its score to 40 points to advance to 15th place, while Barcelona's balance was frozen at 91 points despite guaranteeing the title in advance.
Sevilla extend their La Liga survival with victory over Villarreal
Sevilla boosted their chances of staying in La Liga after overturning a 3-2 deficit against Villarreal on Wednesday at La Ceramica in the 36th round of the competition.
The win was the third in a row for Sevilla, who raised their tally to 43 points and moved up to 10th place temporarily, 4 points clear of the relegation zone two rounds before the end of the tournament, while Villarreal's balance was frozen at 69 points in third place.
The first half ended in a two-goal draw, as Villarreal took the lead with goals from Gerard Moreno and Georgian Georgis Mikatadze, in the 13th and 20th minutes, but the Andalusian team (Sevilla) managed to level the score in the 36th and 45+3 minutes through Osso and Kiki Salas.
In the second half, Sevilla managed to score the third goal in the 72nd minute through Nigerian Akor Jerome Adams, with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box to the top left corner, after an assist from Djibril Sow.
The Yellow Submarines' attack (Villarreal) only appeared in the final minutes, and Sevilla defender José Ángel Carmona saved a ball from the goal line after Pau Navarro's powerful shot deflected off the line.
Manchester City defeat Crystal Palace and continue to chase leaders Arsenal
Manchester City continued to chase Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, after a comfortable victory over Crystal Palace by three goals without reply, in the postponed match of the 31st round.
Antoine Semenho opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before Egypt's Omar Marmouche added the second goal eight minutes later, while Savinho completed the hosts' hat-trick in the 84th minute.
Manchester City increased their tally to 77 points in second place, reducing the gap to just two points behind leaders Arsenal with 79 points, while Crystal Palace's balance was frozen at 44 points in 15th place.
