Artificial Intelligence "Digital Guide" to Serve the Pilgrims in 60 Languages

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of a new phase in the service of the pilgrims, by employing artificial intelligence technologies as a key pillar in the plan for the upcoming Hajj season, with the aim of upgrading religious services and facilitating the performance of rituals for various nationalities and cultures.

150 initiatives for a qualitative leap

The Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, confirmed that this year's operational plan includes more than 150 qualitative initiatives. He explained that these initiatives aim to enrich the pilgrim's experience religiously and knowledgeably, with a focus on the quality of performance in an integrated atmosphere of faith that keeps pace with the aspirations of the wise leadership.

Breaking the language barrier technically

In a move aimed at enhancing global reach, Al-Sudais revealed that the plan relies on an advanced digital system capable of providing guidance and awareness services in 60 different languages. This digital transformation ensures that the right religious messages reach pilgrims in their various languages, which contributes to facilitating their faith journey and reducing confusion in performing rituals.

Intelligent crowd management

In parallel with the guidance services, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has provided an innovative digital service to monitor the density of crowds in real time. This service relies on the analysis of real-time data in the Tawaf and Sa'i areas, and uses simplified color indicators that reflect the state of congestion, which helps the pilgrim to choose the most appropriate time and route to perform the rituals smoothly.

Safety and efficiency levels

These technical initiatives come to raise the efficiency of crowd management and enhance safety levels, especially at peak times. The Authority stressed that the new digital system helps in distributing human density inside the Grand Mosque intelligently, which reduces stampede and provides a safe and reassuring environment for Umrah pilgrims and pilgrims, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's vision in developing the Hajj and Umrah sector.
