Arsenal touch  the Premier League and push West Ham towards relegation

Arsenal moved one step closer to the Premier League title with a hard-fought 1-0 win over West Ham at the London Olympic Stadium in the 36th round of the competition.

The only goal of the match came through Leandro Trossard, with a powerful shot from inside the box in the 83rd minute, after receiving a special pass from substitute Martin Odegaard.

But five minutes before the goal,  Arsenal keeper David Raya saved a sure goal after a fairy save from  West Ham star Matthias Fernandez's shot from inside six yards.

This superb save gave Arsenal a big morale boost, going strong forward and scoring the winning goal that brings them so close to the Premier League title that has been absent from their coffers since 2004.

But the excitement was present in the last minute of the match, specifically at the 90+5 minute when Callum Wilson scored the equalizer for West Ham after a corner, but the referee canceled it after the video technology was restored, due to a mistake made by the West Ham player against Raya.

After this difficult win, Arsenal's balance is 79 points at the top of the Premier League table, 5 points behind runners-up Manchester City, who play their postponed match next Wednesday against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal have just two games left against Burnley, who have been officially relegated to the Championship, and Crystal Palace, while Manchester City play in their last two rounds against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

On the other hand, this loss pushes West Ham to the Championship by a large percentage as its balance is frozen at 36 points in 18th place, and if Tottenham, who are in 17th place, win tomorrow against Leeds, it will expand the gap with them to 4 points.

Aston Villa squander chance to clinch Champions League qualification

Aston Villa squandered the chance to clinch their place in the top five of the Premier League after drawing with Burnley with two goals to the same on Sunday at Turf Moor in the 36th round of the competition.

With this result, Aston Villa raised their tally to 59 points in fifth place, the last place to qualify for the Champions League, four points ahead of sixth-placed Bournemouth, two rounds before the conclusion of the competition.

Burnley, on the other hand, continued their winless streak for the tenth game in a row, freezing their tally at 21 points in 19th and penultimate place, after sealing their relegation to the English Championship with Wolverhampton Wanderers several previous rounds.

Burnley got off to a strong start, with Jadon Antony putting the hosts ahead after just eight minutes with a calm shot from a ball that bounced off Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

However, Unai Emery's team came back to equalise 3 minutes before the break through Ross Barkley, who headed a cross from a corner kick by Scotland captain John McGinn into the net.

In the second half, Ollie Watkins gave the visitors the lead when he controlled a long ball from goalkeeper Martinez before putting it over the top of Burnley's Max Weiss in the 56th minute.

Burnley did not give up as they intensified their attacking pressure to be rewarded after a string of missed chances, after Dutchman Ziane Fleming equalised for the hosts in the 58th minute to seal an organised attack.

The final minutes saw excitement as Aston Villa were denied a penalty in stoppage time in the second half, after Amy Buendia was fouled by Kyle Walker inside the area.

Swiss substitute Mohamed Zaki Amdouni wasted a golden opportunity to snatch an unexpected victory for Burnley in the last moments, while Brazilian Douglas Luiz, in turn, missed a golden opportunity for Aston Villa to end the match with a positive draw.
