Arrest of a gang for stealing telephone and electricity cables in Latakia

Police operation in Latakia dismantles 25-person  robbery gang

Police stations of the Internal Security Command in Latakia carried out a series of arrests, which resulted in the dismantling of an organized gang of 25 people who were engaged in stealing electricity cables and telephones and sabotaging infrastructure.

According to the Internal Security Command in the governorate, the operation came after careful monitoring and follow-up of the movements of the gang members, as it resulted in the arrest of all its members and the seizure of the cutting tools used in cutting the cables, the mechanism that transports them, in addition to a quantity of stolen cables in their possession.

The Internal Security Command in Latakia indicated that the arrested persons have been referred to the competent judiciary for trial.
