An exceptional cold storm hits Wadi Al-Azib in the western part of the country, causing extensive damage

On Wednesday afternoon, a violent cold storm hit the Wadi Al-Azib area, west of the town of Atharia in the countryside of Maskana, which led to a dense and unfamiliar accumulation of hailstones (halul), which completely covered the ground and impeded the movement of residents and vehicles in the area.
Local residents reported that the storm caused significant material damage to crops, especially seasonal crops that were in sensitive growth stages, stressing that the size of the hailstones and the density of accumulation exceeded what the region witnessed during the past years.
Aleppo province and its countryside have been witnessing a state of atmospheric instability for days, interspersed with heavy rains, active wind gusts, and a noticeable drop in temperatures compared to annual averages.
