
America defeats Senegal. Cape Verde issues early warning to Saudi Group teams

The United States snatched a thrilling 3-2 victory over Senegal in a friendly match on Sunday, as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
The match witnessed a strong start for the United States, which hosts the finals alongside Canada and Mexico, as Sergiño Dest opened the scoring in the 7th minute, before Christian Pulisic added the second goal in the 20th minute.
Sadio Mane reduced the score for Senegal in the 44th minute in a special way, before realizing the equalizer with a great effort ten minutes into the second half after a pass from Nicholas Jackson, but the United States snatched the victory with a third goal through Florian Balogun in the 63rd minute.
The U.S. will play in Group D of the World Cup alongside Paraguay, Australia and Turkey, while Senegal will play France, Iraq and Norway in Group N.
Germany crush Finland in preparation for World Cup
Deniz Ondav contributed three goals to lead Germany to a 4-0 win over Finland in a friendly in preparation for Sunday's World Cup.
Ondaf opened the scoring for Germany with a header in the 33rd minute, before setting up the second goal for teammate Florian Wirtz two minutes after the break.
The Stuttgart striker came back to find the back of the net after a pass from Lennart Karl in the 56th minute, and six minutes later Jamal Musiala closed the scoring for Germany with a powerful shot from inside the box.
Germany will play another friendly against the United States on Saturday before the start of their World Cup campaign.
Germany play in Group F, where they open their campaign against Curaçao, then face Côte d'Ivoire and Ecuador.
Julian Nagelsmann's side are looking to make up for the disasters of 2018 and 2022, when the team bid farewell to the tournament from the group stage.
Saudi Group. Cape Verde beat Serbia with a hat-trick ahead of the World Cup
Cape Verde secured a 3-0 win over Serbia in a friendly in preparation for the 2026 World Cup, with Kevin Pena giving Cape Verde the lead in the 11th minute, and in the second half, Gilson Tavares and Laros Duarte added to the scoring with consecutive goals in the 59th and 63rd minutes.
Cape Verde is preparing to play in the World Cup for the first time in its history, as it plays in Group H with Saudi Arabia, Spain and Uruguay.
The team will open its campaign against Spain on June 15, then meet Uruguay six days later, before concluding the group stage with a match against Saudi Arabia on June 26.
