Al-Hilali : Release of 300 detainees from SDF prisons ahead of Eid al-Fitr

The spokesman for the presidential team in charge of the integration process with the SDF, Ahmed Al-Hilali, announced that the efforts of the presidential team in the file of prisoners and detainees in the SDF prisons were crowned with success in releasing a second batch of them before Eid al-Fitr.

He stressed that  about  300 detainees will  be released from SDF prisons, in a step aimed at addressing the file of detainees and alleviating the suffering of their families, and that the government will also release hundreds of SDF affiliates, who were arrested during law enforcement operations in the past periods, as part of measures that highlight the Syrian leadership's keenness to achieve justice and national reconciliation.

Brigadier General Ziad Al-Ayesh held a series of meetings with Justice Minister Mazhar Al-Weiss, the General Intelligence Directorate, and the Internal Security Command to complete the process of releasing the detainees, he said.

Al-Hilali stressed that the state will continue to establish the law by completing the integration process and activating state institutions and the justice system in Al-Hasakah province.

It is noteworthy that the presidential team in charge of following up on the implementation of the  January 29  agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF was able to release 100 detainees from SDF prisons a few days ago.
