Al-Hasakah Governor: Fund for the Development of the Eastern Governorates

Al-Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmed revealed a new economic trend in the eastern province, which calls for the formation of a "development fund for the eastern provinces" to ensure the return of part of the natural resources "oil and agriculture" to develop local infrastructures "electricity and water".

With regard to foreign investments, the  governor of Al-Hasakah expressed flexibility towards Turkish or other companies in an interview with the Saudi newspaper Okaz published today, considering that the criterion is "investment efficiency" and the need of Syrian geography, away from political tussles.

He pointed to the achievement  of tangible progress in the military aspect of the agreement signed between the Syrian government and the SDF, where leaders from the "Autonomous Administration" were appointed to senior positions in the Syrian Ministry of Defense, "Deputy Minister for the Eastern Region."

The governor of al-Hasakah pointed out that three brigades are currently being organized in (al-Hasakah, Qamishli, and Kobani) to be officially integrated into the structure of the Syrian army, where each brigade includes about 1,300 members and officers, while they are subjected to military training courses to unify the "national ideology" away from partisan ideologies.

At the civil level, the governor explained that  joint committees  have begun to activate official departments, and the greatest success has emerged in the education sector, as self-administration employees have been integrated into the Directorate of Education in Damascus.

The governor of Al-Hasakah said that  a formula for teaching the Kurdish language as an optional curriculum translated from the unified Syrian curriculum has been agreed, while work is being done to gradually integrate the health sectors and real estate interests.

Don't marginalize anyone

The governor of Al-Hasakah  sent clear messages of reassurance to the Arab component, strongly denying the rumors that they are excluded from the joints of the state, and describing Al-Hasakah as a "miniature Syria" that does not accept marginalization. He also stressed that recruitment in the next stage will depend on "competence" only, announcing a policy of "forgiveness" towards  former Baath Party employees  , as long as they are not proven to be involved in corruption cases, with the aim of promoting civil peace.

Ahmed announced a move to "whitewash prisons" belonging to the Autonomous Administration, stressing the release of most of the detainees, except for the perpetrators of crimes and ISIS fighters detained under the supervision of the international coalition.

Regarding the previous violations, the governor stressed that "transitional justice" will take its course as soon as the competent courts are activated, to include all parties that violated personal rights during the years of conflict.

On February  13, President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued  Decree No. (30) of 2026, appointing Noureddine Ahmed Issa as governor of al-Hasakah province, and  on January 18, he signed a ceasefire  agreement and the full integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into state institutions.
