After its targeting... Israel admits significant damage to its military satellite station

The Israeli army radio reported that there was significant damage to the military satellite station established in Wadi Al-Sant in central Palestine, southwest of occupied Jerusalem, near the Beit Shemesh area, after it was targeted by shelling announced by "Hezbollah".

According to the information circulating, the station is operated by Israel Aerospace Industries through the Space Communications Department, and is one of the vital facilities that are used to communicate with satellites through large air dishes dedicated to receiving signals and retransmitting them or transmitting them to terrestrial networks.

Anas Abu Arqoub, a journalist specializing in Israeli affairs, explained that the station is used for multiple purposes that include civil, commercial and government services, such as communications, television broadcasting and data transmission, and is part of the infrastructure supporting the operation of Israeli communications satellites, including the  "Amos" series of satellites.

In the same context, sources linked to Hezbollah announced the targeting of the satellite communications station known as "Emk Hayla" near Jerusalem, which resulted in extensive destruction at the site, according to circulating videos.

On Monday evening, Israeli platforms published a video showing significant damage to the satellite signal booster station in the Wadi Ela area near Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem, and other footage showed thick plumes of smoke rising from inside the site after the targeting, an indication of the extent of the damage to the facility.

In another clip posted by an Israeli citizen on his Facebook page, metal fragments appeared scattered inside the satellite signal booster station in Wadi Ila, reflecting the extent of the damage to the facility after the shelling.
