8 Palestinians killed in Gaza as Israel approves plans to resume fighting in Gaza

Palestinian medical sources announced today, Wednesday, June 10, that 8 Palestinians were killed during the past 24 hours, raising the death toll of the Israeli genocide that has been ongoing since October 2023 to 72,988 dead.
The government media office in Gaza confirmed in its latest data that the repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement (in force since October 10, 2025) alone resulted in the death of 985 people and the injury of 3,097 others, and this announcement coincided with the disclosure by the Union of Fishermen's Committees that the occupation forces arrested 9 fishermen after attacking their boats off the coast, as well as the announcement by the Ministry of Health of the arrest of 7 paramedics belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent at the checkpoint of Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip, 5 of whom were released Later.
Israel prepares to return to fighting in Gaza
The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" revealed, citing security sources, that the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, has officially approved operational plans presented by the commander of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asour, to resume large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip, under the pretext that Hamas has rebuilt its headquarters, organizational capabilities and tunnel networks, taking advantage of the months of calm.
On the other hand, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem confirmed that the movement and the Palestinian factions dealt flexibly and positively with mediation proposals in Cairo (with the participation of Egypt, Qatar and Turkey) that led to acceptable approaches, where the factions agreed to a conditional formula on the principle of "limiting arms" to an agreed Palestinian body, amid expectations of Israel's rejection and the American conditions that insist on handing over weapons to international stabilization forces under US President Donald Trump's plan.
The occupation forces arrest 13 Palestinians in the West Bank
The Israeli occupation forces arrested 13 Palestinians, including a woman, during a raid campaign in West Bank cities and villages on Wednesday morning.
The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported that this morning, the occupation forces arrested 10 Palestinians from the village of Hussan, west of Bethlehem, after raiding and searching the homes of their relatives, and also arrested a young man, and assaulted others during the raid into the village of Ras Karkar, west of Ramallah.
The occupation forces also raided the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, and detained 3 citizens for a temporary period, and fired stun grenades and gas canisters at the homes of citizens, which led to a fire near a house without any injuries reported.
In Nablus, Israeli forces raided the villages of Beit Iba and Burqa, raided several houses, and arrested a woman and a young man, while still controlling a house in the village of Ajnesina, north of Nablus, which it turned into a military barracks two days ago.
In Jenin, the occupation forces raided the town of Arraba, raided several houses, detained a large number of citizens, interrogated them, and turned a house into an interrogation point and a military barracks, and also raided the town of Bir al-Basha, while the occupation vehicles deployed in the villages of Marka, Anza, Jabaa and Fahma, south of Jenin, and launched a campaign of raids and searches of houses there.
Today, the occupation bulldozers closed all the entrances and agricultural roads leading to the Arraba agricultural plain south of Jenin, extending from the area of the Arraba station to the entrances to the town of Ya'bad, which led to the isolation of one of the largest agricultural areas in the northern West Bank, and prevented farmers from reaching their lands.
Farmers pointed out that over the past years, these roads have formed a vital artery for agricultural lands spread in the region, and have contributed to the development of agricultural production, reducing the cost of access to farms, and transporting crops.
The farmers stressed that the closure of the roads will directly affect the daily agricultural work, pointing out that some agricultural areas have become almost isolated as a result of the earthen berms and obstacles placed by the occupation forces.
They pointed out that the new measures of the occupation come in the context of the continuous policy of restriction on the Palestinian agricultural sector, especially in the areas near bypass roads, military sites and colonial projects, at a time when the occupation authorities continue to carry out works related to colonial projects in the vicinity of the northern area of Arraba, which raises fears of imposing more restrictions on agricultural lands in the future.
UN Report and International Sanctions
In this context, an official report issued by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, published on Tuesday, June 9, concluded that the Israeli occupation authorities are directly involved in supporting settler attacks, which have escalated by 130% since 2023, by providing them with financial and military support and protection, stressing that "the de facto collapse of discrimination between settlers and soldiers."
In response to this "horrific violence", 6 Western countries (France, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway) imposed on Tuesday a package of severe sanctions under which France banned the entry of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich into their territories for his public call for the annexation of the West Bank and the reoccupation of Gaza, while the British government announced the imposition of sanctions on 6 entities that contribute to financing and enabling the impunity of settlers.
