For the second time in 10 days, Como squandered a two-goal lead against Inter Milan to lose 3-2 on Tuesday at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
With this win, the Nerazzurri booked their place in the final, taking advantage of a goalless first leg draw, waiting for the qualifier to face Atalanta and Lazio on Wednesday, while maintaining their hopes of achieving the domestic double as they move closer to clinching the league title.
Como was close to reaching the first final in his history after he took a double through Croatia's Martin Baturina with a shot inside the area, and then France's Lucas da Cunha singled off the keeper in the 32nd and 48th minutes.
But Inter turned the tide in the final minutes thanks to the brilliance of Turkey's Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who reduced the deficit with a powerful ground shot from outside the area in the 69th minute, taking advantage of the pass of Croatian substitute Petar Sucic.
Çalhanoglu came back to equalize the result with an elaborate header in the 86th minute after another cross from Socic, before the same player set up the winning goal for Socic in the 89th minute, with a powerful shot in the far corner, giving Inter a ticket to the final.
