World Music Day Celebrations.. Syrian Artist Rasha Rizk Shines at Tunis Opera
Syrian singer Rasha Rizk performed a special concert at the Opera Theater in the capital Tunis, yesterday evening, Saturday, June 13, which witnessed a large public attendance after tickets for the concert sold out days before it was scheduled to be held, as part of the celebrations of World Music Day.
The Tunisian Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Shadi El Garfi, participated in the revival of this night, in a remarkable artistic evening that combined operatic singing, classical Arabic songs, and the songs of the famous cartoon badges that were associated with the conscience and memory of the generation of the nineties and millennium.
Immortal works movement of the emotions of the audience
Rasha Rizk began her singing program in the first part of the concert by presenting a bouquet of prominent and immortal musical works in the archive of Arab music.
She sang "Ya Nojoom Al-Lail" by Farid Al-Atrash, "Aho Da Al-Li Saar" by the renovator Sayed Darwish, in addition to the songs "Zahra fi Khayyali" and "Ana Qalbi Dalili".
Rizk also paid a special tribute to the Tunisian artistic and musical heritage through her performance of the song "Ya Blossom El Lemon", which received a great deal of interaction from the audience.
Reviving the badges of the children's programs
In the second part of the concert, Rizk moved on to lighting up the theater with a "nostalgia" theme and recalling childhood memories.
She presented a group of the most famous cartoon series badges that she formulated with her voice, and came to the ceremony with a new orchestral distribution that gave it a renewed and different artistic character, including the badges of the children's series "Remy", "Digital Heroes", "Covenant of Friends", "The Sniper", "Grandizer", and "Sasuke".
What is World Music Day?
World Music Day "Fête de la Musique" falls on June 21 every year, where dozens of countries celebrate this occasion with revival of various local and international musical colors, as well as organizing concerts in squares, theaters, operas, clubs, concert halls, parks and various spaces, and exchanging experiences in the field of music.
First launched in 1976 by American musician Joel Cohen, who worked for the French radio station "France Musique", Joel suggested the channel "Saturnalia Music" to play on June 21 .
He wanted the bands to play on the evening of June 21, the longest day of the year, the day of the start of summer, and the project was carried out on June 21, 1976, in the west of the cities of West Paris and Toulouse.
In 1981, the musician Maurice Fleurer took the idea to another level, and under his influence and with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, World Music Day became official in 1982, becoming a celebration that invites musicians to share their art in open spaces, at no cost to the public, and thus the festival became part of the cultural history of humanity.
