Tunisian Football Federation: Hervé Renard leaves Carthage Eagles coaching

An  official source from the Tunisian Football Federation announced that French coach Hervé Renard will officially leave his position at the head of the national team's technical staff immediately after the end of  the next match between Tunisia and the Netherlands.

The source said:  It was decided that the match scheduled for Friday, June 26, in the last round of the first round, will be the final stop of the French coach's journey with the Eagles, after all sports chances in qualifying for the round of 32 faded.

Tunisia bid farewell to World Cup

The Tunisian national football team officially bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup from the first round, after receiving a harsh and heavy loss to its Japanese counterpart by four goals without reply, on Sunday, in the meeting held in the Mexican city of Monterrey for the second round of Group F competitions.

Renard: Tunisia's performance is shocking

The 57-year-old French coach took over the Tunisian national team only last Tuesday, succeeding coach Sabri Lemouchi, who was sacked by a resounding fall in the opening match against Sweden by five goals to one.

Renard, the former coach of the Saudi national team, failed to revive Tunisia's fortunes or arrange the effective cards for Group F, and the team under his leadership suffered its second heaviest defeat in history in the finals against Japan.

  France's Hervé Renard described his players' performance as "shocking" and disappointing shortly after the team's collective collapse and four clean  sheets.

Renard admitted in statements to the French network "beIN Sports" that his hopes of changing the technical conditions inside the stadium were completely disappointed and dissipated early, especially after the Japanese team advanced with two clean goals after only half an hour of the start whistle, which made a comeback in the result almost impossible in the absence of the physical and mental reaction of the players.
