

Syria and Jordan signed a joint agreement on the development of air services in the two countries on Sunday, June 14, in Damascus.
The signing of the agreement came at the conclusion of the Syrian-Jordanian ministerial meeting in Damascus chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Asaad Al-Shaibani and Ayman Al-Safadi, with the participation of the Ministers of Economy, Industry, Energy and Transport of the two countries, in addition to the participation of the President of the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport in the two countries.
According to a joint statement issued at the end of the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and effective consultation mechanisms between the foreign ministries of the two brotherly countries, and to enhance and deepen bilateral cooperation sectorally in the fields of economic integration, transport, customs, water, joint strategic projects, institutional development, investment, health and energy.
The two sides also discussed regional developments and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
During an extensive bilateral meeting, Al-Shaibani and Safadi agreed to hold the third session of the Higher Coordination Council between the two countries next October in Damascus, expressing their satisfaction with the continuous development and steady growth of the relations between the two brotherly countries.
Facilitating inter-transit transportation
In this context, the ministers reviewed the practical steps taken, as the Syrian side appreciated Jordan's opening of the door to imports from Syria and the implementation of the new trade exchange mechanism since the beginning of May this year.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister reiterated the country's support for the Syrian government's efforts to rebuild and recover Syria on the foundations that guarantee its unity, security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the preservation of the rights of its people, while Al-Shaibani praised the Kingdom's continuous support for Syria and support for the path of rebuilding the state.
The two sides also discussed bilateral cooperation in all modes of air, land, sea and rail transport and the progress made in this regard.
The meeting discussed measures aimed at achieving the highest degree of ease and flexibility in the movement of trucks heading to the territories of the two countries or transit (transit), where the two parties agreed on specific practical steps to enhance the flow of intra-regional and transit trade and overcome obstacles.
The outputs of the Joint Water Committee come into effect
In the field of water, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of the Joint Water Committee, which held its third meeting in Amman following the second session of the Coordination Council.
They stressed the great importance of implementing these outputs and ensuring the equitable distribution of water between the two brotherly countries. The Jordanian and Syrian delegations officially welcomed the launch and activation of the "Jordanian-Syrian Joint Operational Water Platform", and the start of the technical teams studying the development and development of the Yarmouk Basin to maximize the joint water benefit.
Condemnation of Foreign Interference and Repeated Attacks
Politically, Safadi and Al-Shaibani stressed the utmost importance of the full implementation of the roadmap to end the crisis in Sweida and stabilize southern Syria, which is the relevant bilateral and international map announced by Jordan, Syria and the United States of America and adopted by many countries and international and regional organizations, stressing the continuation of the efforts of the two countries aimed at their categorical rejection of any partition or separatist plans in the region.
The Jordanian and Syrian sides condemned the repeated Israeli aggressions and interventions on Syrian territory, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law, and an attack on Syria's sovereignty aimed at destabilizing its security and undermining the government's efforts towards recovery.
The two ministers stressed that these attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the 1974 Syrian-Israeli Disengagement Agreement, and called for Israel's immediate withdrawal to the disengagement agreement lines, stressing the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts and dialogue to address regional crises on the basis of respect for international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
