Rasha Sharbatji and Samer Radwan prepare for a new drama for Ramadan 2027

Syrian director Rasha Sharbatji and writer Samer Radwan have announced the start of official preparations for a joint drama set to be screened in the 2027 Ramadan drama season, marking the expected return of the duo that has made a breakthrough in the Arab and real-life drama industry after many years of absence.

Sharbatji announced on her official Facebook page that the project is still in its early stages of outlining the script and holding intensive meetings in preparation for the selection of the heroes and filming locations, while Abdo Madkhneh is in charge of the technical and executive producer duties of the work.

According to private sources  revealed by local media, the new series belongs to the category of police and social drama with a heavy nature and the dialectical human depth that has always characterized Radwan's writings, and the name of the work and the rest of its details will be announced gradually in the coming weeks.

"Filmers" Launches Its Return to the Syrian Arena

This upcoming series represents the first productions of "Filmers" for artistic production after its return to work in the Syrian local scene, as the company confirmed its keenness to choose a team with long experience in drama due to the great responsibility and high expectations of the audience to present a work worthy of the Arab viewer.

The writer Radwan shared on his Facebook account a photo documenting the signing of the agreement with the producer in the presence of Abdo Madkhneh, commenting with striking words: "Writing is the only savior from this crazy world, accompanied by loyal lovers inhabited by art, we will meet next Ramadan."

On the other hand, Rasha Sharbatji reposted his post with the caption: "A new journey with an old partner of success. I am happy to return this collaboration with a veteran writer with a distinguished pen and a realistic dramatic vision."

"Born from the Loin" and "The Platform of the Dead" are the founding partnership

The professional roots of the duo of Rasha Sharbatji and Samer Radwan are deep in the history of modern Syrian drama, as their founding partnership was first launched in 2011 through the popular and popular series "Born from the Loin" in its first part, which at the time caused a wide positive shock in the Arab street due to its unprecedented boldness in dissecting security corruption, classism and hot societal conflicts.

Director Sharbatji's realistic and precise eye succeeded in capturing the details of difficult characters and transforming Radwan's scripts written in a direct and harsh style into vivid visual images, which prompted the parties to capitalize on this resounding success and create the second part of the work in 2012 under the title "Hours of Embers" to establish this duo as one of the strongest directorial and writing duos in the Arab region.

In 2013, the partnership was renewed to write the third part of the series, titled "The Tribune of the Dead", but this chapter of the collaboration witnessed complex logistical and technical storms, as severe production disputes and complex filming conditions prevented Rasha Sharbatji from directing the work, announcing her withdrawal halfway through, and later director Seif Eddine Subaie took over the work.

Despite this temporary and forced professional separation, audiences and critics still wanted to see a new meeting between Radwan's controversial pen and humanitarian issues with Sharbatji's camera steeped in the details of life, which was finally achieved with the announcement of their  upcoming drama for the 2027 season.
